Since its inception in 2002, the department of Computer Science and Engineering strives to create quality professionals through interactive teaching methodology. The department has both UG and PG programmes and takes the pride that it is in the largest in the college in terms of student’s strength. The main aim of the department is to provide sound knowledge through theory and practice in engineering and technology to students in a systematic and effective manner.
The faculty members also pursue research in areas like Computer Networking, Computer Architecture, Computer Security, Data Mining, Image Processing, Natural Language Processing, and Theoretical Computer Science. The U.G. and P.G. students are also encouraged to take part in these research activities by taking up projects and publishing their findings in reputed international conferences and journals.
Driven by the inspiration from the department, a number of students in the department had the good fortune to present their papers at reputed conferences held at Cambridge University, UK and at World Computer Congress, Korea.
Speed is the motto, time is the constraint and Computer Science is the entity of the era.

Programme Educational Objectives(PEO)
: Graduates shall have up-to-date knowledge in Computer Science & Engineering along with interdisciplinary and broad knowledge on mathematics, science, management and allied engineering to become computer professionals, scientists and researchers.
: Graduates shall excel in analysing, designing and solving engineering problems and have life-long learning skills, to develop computer applications and systems, resulting in the betterment of the society.
: Graduates shall nurture team spirit, ethics, social values, skills on communication and leadership, enabling them to become leaders, entrepreneurs and social reformers.
a. An ability to apply mathematical foundations, algorithmic principles, and computer science theory in the modeling and design of computer-based systems.
b. An ability to identify, analyze, formulate and solve technical problems by applying principles of computing and mathematics relevant to the problem.
c. An ability to define the computing requirements for a technical problem and to design, implement and evaluate a computer-based system, process or program to meet desired needs.
